Masarap maiwan minsan

Yummy siomai

My super fave Chicken feet!
sorry for the blurred pic :(

and a bonus Venti Coffee Jelly Frap :)

Hehehe.... sarap magpaiwan sa bahay minsan no?

Hubby's Running Accessories

Si hubby ko ay may pagka-banidoso when it comes to his running gear and accessories. This sunday ay may sasalihan na naman siyang marathon event sponsored by Nature Valley at Bonifacio Global City, Friday pa lang ay inaayos na niya ang kanyang mga dadalhin at gagamitin.

I always tease him, kasi he's an Adidas fan, hindi siya bumibili ng ibang brand ng shoes kundi Adidas lang, sabi ko sa kanya, mag-apply kaya siyang model/endorser ng Adidas, pati shorts and singlet ay yun din hehehe...

These are his accessories Adidas running shoes, sunvisor, socks, Oakley shades, mizuno body bag, fuel/hydration belt and his Sony walkman. Ayan kumpleto na, takbo na sweetipie!!!

Trellis

Hubby and I attended the orientation for parents of the incoming freshmen students in diliman. According to them it was the first time that an orientation were held for the parents.
He wanted to try Trellis' famous sisig, madami na kasi siyang nabasang forum saying that their sisig is one of the best in the metro. Kaya go kami dito.

Trellis is along Kalayaan Ave. cor. Matalino St. in Q.C.

Ganda ng lugar, kaya I took pictures while waiting for our lunch.

I wonder kung punong-puno ba ito kapag lunch time or dinner time...

ganda ng ambiance sa Trellis...

Then our food came, a little bit excited and very hungry at the same time, naisip ko na sulit naman siguro ang pag-iintay namin... pero nung nalasahan ko na, hindi naman pala ganung kasarap ang sisig nila, simply overrated lang pala ang food dito sa Trellis.
Sisig

Sinigang na Maya-maya sa Miso

Hubby was disappointed with their Sinigang sa Miso, kasi hindi fresh na Maya-maya yung nakalagay para siyang pinirito na sinabawan lang ng sinigang na miso soup. Maybe it was their version pero hindi talaga namin nagustuhan.
The iced tea was just okay

Top Pot Doughnuts from Starbucks

I am supposed to write about this two weeks ago, kaso I'm quite busy in the past days kaya ngayon lang ako nagkaroon ng chance to say something about this hand forged doughnuts. I asked hubby's cousin who's a store manager at Starbucks to buy me these new addition to the pastry family of Starbucks ( oh how I miss working at the store and arrange the breads and cakes in the pastry case kapag opening ako...huhuhu)

This is the Glazed Old Fashioned Doughnut
(The taste was okay but for me it is forgettable)

The Chocolate Old Fashioned Doughnut
(I like this one but Justine says that it taste like the one from Go Nuts)

Apple Fritter
(this is quite oily for me and the taste was just okay)

What flavor is your choice?
Grab one!

Emerald Garden's Jumbo Siopao

Baclaran day is every Wednesday so we (yeye and hubby) went off at 6:00 am to look for some good buys outside the church. Ate Beng once told us that there were lots of good buys outside the vicinity of the church during that day. When we got there, we were surprise to see the place clean and free of sidewalk vendors, nyek! There was a clearing operation by the MMDA since last week, according to one of the traffic enforcers so there was no more vendors selling cheap items anymore... Hinuhuli na sila, we roamed around the place at talagang wala yung sinasabi ni ate Beng na mga cheap curtains and pillow cases, hayyy... sana pala April pa kami nagpunta ni Yeye :(
We decided to go home para mas maaga kaming makapag-open ng shop. When we were in Roxas Blvd. hubby asked me kung bukas na kaya ang Emerald ng ganong kaaga, i'm not so sure kaya dahan dahan kami so nung napadaan kami sa una (they have two branches there) nakita namin na sarado kaya parang dismayado si hubby kasi ilang beses na kaming nauubusan ng kanilang siopao. When we dined there last March ay ubos na din ang siopao, nung galing kami sa MOA ubos na rin pagdaan namin... eh masarap pa naman siya.
When we pass by the 2nd store, aba bukas pala siya! at talaga palang they were serving breakfast. Grabe naman, bago ako makaalis for take-out eh inabot ako ng 15 to 20 minutes sa pag-aantay, ang daming tao pala dun pag morning at ang daming orders for take-out.

We bought Asado flavor P30.00 each and their special siopao for P85.00

It has salted eggs, chicken, asado and bola-bola. Masarap siya talaga, kaya nga hubby is dying to buy these yummy dimsum from Emerald.
This is the Asado Siopao, regular lang ang size niya

They give a generous amount of sauce, hindi bitin!

Again.... a closer look at this yummy siopao!!!

Family bonding and good food

Yesterday we had some sort of a celebration for Jeffrey. We treated him for an afternoon snack at KFC, fave nya kasi ang original recipe chicken dito na leg part as per his request, hehehe. It's a great way to escape some pressure at the shop too and we had a great time bonding with our kids. We bought Justine some shirts kasi walang uniform sa school na papasukan niya.

For Jeff naman, treat namin sa kanya for winning in the taek competition.

The kids had KFC Krushers too!

After strolling sa The Block ay nag-aya si hubby to go to Greenhills to look for some statement shirts for Justine, madami kasi kaming nakita doon na mga cute shirts for men.

Hubby and kuya while waiting for our food
On our table....

We had Chicken feet! of course this is my fave!!!
(kaso nothing beats Causeway's IMHO)

We ordered Sparerib rice,
the reason why Le Ching is famous because of this flavorful pork dish.

Hubby likes Hakao

Justine's fave siomai

Asado rice, we didn't like this because the meat is quite dry.

To sum it up, we had a great dining experience at Le Ching which has 2 branches in Greenhills, in Banawe and a stall at Trinoma in Q.C. We'll definitely go back!

Pastel (Vjandep) Wannabe

Me and hubby went to Pasay a few weeks ago. We didn't use the car, instead we rode the LRT because the parking is quite difficult in the area where we bought hubby's hydration belt. Pagbaba namin sa LRT, I was surprised to see a stall that sells Pastel. I immediately told hubby that we should buy a box of it so that we can try if its the same taste with our fave Vjandep. I asked first the girl if these pastel came all the way from Camiguin, she said no but the taste is very good according to her. So much of the story... we bought a box and I'm very excited to get home because I wanted our children to try also this Pastel for they so love the one from Vjandep. Justine immediately opened the box and heated the pastel in the microwave..

It looks good...

Oh no! I'm quite disappointed with this... the taste of the yema filling is very far from Vjandep and the bread is quite dry. I hope that they improve the quality of the bread and the yema filling because it lacks the creaminess that we're looking for and sobrang konti ng filling.

Talagang we still have to go to Market Market just to buy these
yummy buns from Vjandep!

Santacruzan

I liked this one, kitang-kitang pinagpaguran ang kanyang arko, parang kiping ng Lucban Quezon ang drama ng arko nya... panalo for me!

hehehe mga singkit lang talaga sila with good looks :)

Well, I hope next year ay maging mas maganda na ang pasagala nila.

Jeffrey's First Taekwondo Competition

Yesterday was the first taekwondo competition that my youngest son joined. It was a mixed feelings for me because as a mother, I'm excited and afraid at the same time because he joined the sparring for white belts. He doesn't have any practice in sparring (lakas lang ng loob) hehehe, I'm confident for his poomse performance because he always practice in our home and at the gym. He insisted in joining the sparring eventhough he doesn't have any gear for that, anyway Coach Christian lend him an armour for the fight.
The competition was held at San Jose Academy in Navotas. My first time to be in San Jose, I realized that it's not that far from our place. I'm impressed in SJA because there's a lot of plants and trees inside the school (ang lamig sa mata).
We came before 8:00, the call time is 8:00 am sharp :)

Picture muna :)

The very supportive parents...actually konti pa lang yan,
dumami lalo around 9:00 am.

They were instructed to practice the poomse

The participants...

Awarding of Gold medalists for Poomse Individual Category in the morning...

Awarding of Silver medalists for Sparring in the afternoon

Siyempre ang mga proud mom and dad :)

Jeff's gold and silver medals from Philippine Taekwondo Association :)
