Mobile "Mamihan"

Hmmm, dahil sa malimit na pag-ulan at hindi ako madalas maka-alis ng bahay para makapag share ng mga bagong food adventures ko, heto naman at sinuswerte dahil yung food na mismo ang lumalapit sa akin, hehehe... my last post was about the mobile shawarma wherein they claimed to be the first in the country, this "mobile mamihan" naman is not new sa ating mga paningin.

Want to see the preparation of his hot mami? Here are the pics...

Photobucket
A portion of mami noodles

Photobucket
Soaked in a few seconds in hot water

Photobucket
Then he'll put it in a disposable soup bowl

Photobucket
he'll then put the sliced beef, spring onions, sliced cabbage, and garlic

Photobucket
then the beef stock

Photobucket
yan! ready to eat na ang ating mami!

Photobucket
You can put any of these condiments if you like - soysauce, hot sauce, salt & pepper

Photobucket
This is "Mang Christoper", he's using mineral water too. Please notice the sack that hangs at the end of his bike, yun ang kanyang lagayan ng mga nagamit ng bowls, plastic spoons and plastic cups, para nga naman hindi siya nagkakalat sa daan. Oh, i like this man... concern din siya sa kalinisan ng kanyang paligid. Way to go Mang Christopher!!!

The First Mobile Shawarma!

It's been months since I first saw TJ's Mobile Shawarma and I got excited because it's the first and only mobile shawarma in the country. Last month nagkaroon ako ng chance to taste it... sorry! ngayon ko lang naalalang i-post.

Here are the pics...

Photobucket

Photobucket
See? they claimed to be the first and only mobile shawarma in our country!

Photobucket
The price, same sa mga malls...

Photobucket

Photobucket
Looks yummy!

Total impression:
- It was OK
- medyo matigas yung beef
- mas masarap pa rin for me ang Shawarma sa SM at dun sa 168 Mall.

Dunkin' Donuts - BCT Bunwich

Photobucket

I became a regular customer of Dunkin Donuts Caloocan City Hall Branch because of their BCL (Bacon Coleslaw & Tomato) Bunwich. I like the way they prepare my BCL because I can request the service crew to put lettuce in my BCL without additional charge. You can actually see how they prepare the bunwich unlike in other branches that the kitchen is partly hidden and you don't know if they are preparing your bunwich in the proper way (you know what i mean...)

Chicken and Pork Adobo

Vjandep Pastel from Camiguin

Last night my tita excitedly showed me a box of pastry that was given to her by a friend. When I saw the brand Vjandep, my heart pumps double time… OMG! It’s my favorite pastel from Camiguin!!! She told me to get one, but I refused, Ha! Ha! I told her “Tita since it’s your first time, I will let you enjoy all the pastels, because for sure, you’ll regret giving me at least a bite of that after you taste them” hehehe…

Photobucket

The pastel from Camiguin is like a dinner bun with a sweet custard feeling. Vjandep Pastel can be purchase also in Cagayan De Oro because they have branches there too.

Photobucket
I did not dare to open it!

For those of you who want to taste the deliciously baked pastel, I think there’s a store in Tiendesitas and Market Market in Taguig that sells Vjandep. The price of course is much higher than the one being sold in CDO.

Hazel's Special Puto

Sobrang soft niya at may cheese and salted eggs on top. It's only P10.00 per piece. You can request the owner kung gusto ninyong individually naka plastic wrap yung puto.

This is the box for 20 pieces and up

Photobucket

at gumawa ako ng sawsawan: vinegar, coconut brand ng soysauce, chopped onion, sliced na siling panigang, konting sugar, salt and pepper.

Photobucket

O ayan, imagine kung ilang pounds na naman ang nadagdag sa timbang ko niyan pagkatapos naming lafangin ang liempo. hayyy... a very sinful food indeed!

Breakfast 101

Good Morning sa inyong lahat!!!!

Starbucks Oatmeal Cookie

Yesterday morning my hubby went to SM San Lazaro to buy a jersey for our son Jeffrey. Never akong magsasawa dito... masarap siyang i- pair sa aking favorite na green tea.

Photobucket
P 50.00 per piece

Rafael's Palabok

Yesterday we went to the dentist of my son Justine para ikabit na ang kanyang retainer.

Photobucket
all these cost only P 65.00

I'm happy because he's eating healthy food na rin.

Rafael Restaurant in Caloocan

Photobucket

It is a family operated business, kaya buong pamilya nila ay involved sa everyday operations nito (from the cook to the cashier). The place is clean, the owners are nice, reasonably priced at higit sa lahat yung food ay talagang the best!

Photobucket
For Breakfast they usually have pandesal, hot sopas, macaroni, pansit, sinangag w/ longganisa or tocino and salted egg

Photobucket
One of their bestseller "Lechon Kawali" served with sweet & sour sauce and thinly sliced unripe papaya

Photobucket
That day, they have Hawaiian Chicken, Paksiw na Bangus, Ginisang Ampalaya, Lumpiang Sariwa, Beef Caldereta (the best din ito pero hindi nasama sa pic) menudo, paksiw na lechon etc.

Photobucket
They also have Fried Tilapia and Fried Chicken

For merienda they usually have:

Photobucket
Ang favorite kong minatamis na Cassava

Photobucket
Hindi nawawala ang Ginatan

Photobucket
eto ang kanilang dessert that day

Photobucket

Photobucket
Open from Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm

Teresita R. Razon's Halo-halo & Tortang Pandesal

Photobucket

Nag-stop over kami sa Lake Shore in San Fernando Pampanga para doon mag-lunch last Saturday.

Photobucket
Nasa to-go cup... sa bus na ako kumain... this cost only P 58.00 compared to their Manila counterpart which cost P 65.00

Photobucket
Tortang Pandesal (Kapampangan Sandwich) P 38.00

I was very excited when i saw this sa kanilang counter. I've been hearing about this Tortang Pandesal from friends that this sandwich is really something that we shouldn't miss whenever we passed by at Teresita's ... I agree! it's such a surprise that this pandesal with ground pork inside is such a treat for me.

You wanna see what's inside?

Photobucket
O ano? bili na!

Pampanga Goodies

Since I considered myself as a certified foodie (hehehe), hindi ko pinalagpas ang chance to buy something from the place/church the we've visited.

Photobucket
Ar-yins Special Yema
You can buy this at Betis, Guagua, Pampanga

Photobucket
Ar-yins Kasoy Tarts
Also at Betis, Pampanga

Photobucket
Original Puto Seco
I bought this inside the Bacolor Church, according to my Tita this kind of Puto Seco was the original one because it's made of Galapong. I like it better than the puto seco being sold in the supermarkets.

MONASTERIO DE TARLAC

As what I had promised, I made a separate entry about Monasterio de Tarlac. From our 6th Church in Cupcupin, Tarlac it took us 1 and a half hours before reaching the top of the mountain. It seems to me that the road going there seems endless and very very far (36 kilometers from Tarlac City), but I’m telling you that it’s very worth it.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
The place is very calm and relaxing. It’s like you’re very close to God when your there.

Photobucket
this is the 30 foot statue of Jesus Christ

Photobucket
Located on top of a mountain, the monastery is the home of a relic of the true cross of Jesus Christ. It is said that the relic was given to Prior, Frater Ronald Thomas "Archie" Cortez of Servants of the Risen Christ by Msgr. Volker Bauer from Germany during the World Youth Day celebration in 2005.

Photobucket
The reliquary which houses the fragment of the true cross is known to be the only one in the entire Asia.

Photobucket
It is said that the relic of the true cross is exposed only once a year, every September 14, the feast of the Holy Cross.

Photobucket
The Church of the Risen Christ held mass every Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 in the morning.
