Cheap Curtains from Divi

A week before Christmas I was able to buy some cheap but elegant looking curtains at Divisoria near 168 Mall. It's only P 100.00 per panel so I bought 4 pcs. for our room. I'll try to go back next week, hope they'll have new designs. I also bought 2 pcs. color blue curtains with the same design for Justine's room. Good buy isn't it?

Christmas Gift ni Kuya

This was the gift of my Kuya to me. I was very happy with this gift because i've been planning to buy a new watch to replace my old watch, buti na lang I've waited kasi nararamdaman kong ibibili talaga ako ni kuya hehehe....

Pare-pareho kaming tatlo, kay Ate Emma (his wife) and kay Marisse (his daughter), different colors nga lang.

Thank you very much kuya!!!!

Excelente and Tillamook

Breakfast on Christmas day wouldn't be complete without these two. Justine was the one who bought this last last Dec. 23 and became impatient because it's his first time to buy it alone and according to him, there's a lot of people inside the Excelente store in Quiapo. I don't know how to make ham that's why we just buy cooked ham in excelente as well as the bacon.

Pardon me for the blurred pic. Eh may natira pang pizza nung gabi kaya kinain namin for breakfast yung iba.

This cheese naman was may favorite for the last 4 years now. Since mom came here for a vacation and she brought home a bar of this Tllamook, I got hooked since then. Thank God that this Christmas, it was a pasalubong for me by my Tita Lita. She asked my mom what I want as pasalubong and she just said that just buy Rizza a Tillamook cheese and I'm sure she'll be very glad. Well mom, super glad talaga ako because Tita Lita gave me 2 bars of this cheese.

Just what it says in the packaging... super sharp ng cheese na ito at talong-talo ang lasa ng Marca PiƱa at

In fairness, wala siyang mabahong amoy, hehehe...

Would you believe na super cheap ang price nito?
It's only P 150.00 for almost a kilo ng bigat ng halaya na ito.

We want more of this halaya kuya!

My kids likes it very much. But hubby and I prefer the original glazed flavor.

What's your favorite Krispy Kreme flavor?

Yummy Mango Torte from Dulcelin...
We had this on Christmas Eve, it's very yummy according to my bunso. Thursday morning when we dropped by at Dulcelin in Times Street. It looks like na kaka-open lang ng kanilang "gate" for customers and ang unang humarap sa amin ay ang kanilang staff which was very friendly. Then lumabas na yung may-ari or in-charge sa selling ng cakes and we were quite disappointed by his attitude.

Masarap ang layer na maraming nuts, the cream is to die for but the fresh mango was not that sweet.

Christmas Dinner

My hubby and I went to SM Hypermarket on the morning of the 24th and bought the ingredients of the food that he's going to cook on Christmas day. We always had our visitor at dinner time so he decided to cook something special for them.
Here's what we have:

He really cooked all of these!

Blue Marlin marinated in lemon and some spices and then fried in Anchor butter topped with fried garlic...
Masarap siya and this was a hit sa mga health conscious naming bisita!

Love this Pork Loin Steak!
He attended in one of the Joggers Christmas Party and he told me that the taste was so good and so he decided to include this in our menu.

Breaded Chicken Fillet was a kids favorite!
Super crunchy ng breading but still juicy inisde.
(At naisipan pa niyang lagyan ng garnishing yan...
panalo si hubby, wala akong masabi!)

Lunch in Tito Arthur's House on Xmas Day!

We had our Christmas lunch at Tito Arthur's house. It's been a practice of our family to celebrate Christmas lunch in his house because our "Lola" stays there. We had Kare-kare, Lechon sa Pugon, Fresh Lumpiang Ubod, Chicken Fillet, Chicken BBQ, and the panghimagas Leche Flan, Halaya and Buko Salad.

My lola happily serving her apos Jessica and KC who had a tantrums...hehehe...ayaw kumain.

Lola with her grandchildren and great grandchildren

Lola with Tita Beth, Me, Ate Emma, Tita Weng and Ate Leng
Topher was not around bukas ang shop kasi...

Actually, sandali lang ako nakapag-stay kina lola because I need to go home early dahil magpe-prepare naman kami ng xmas dinner para sa mga bisita naman namin sa gabi. It's Topher's time in the kitchen at kailangan ko siyang tulungan...
Please see my next post ...

Noche Buena

We celebrate Christmas eve with pizza, chicken and a cake. We're only five who celebrated that night and we asked our kids kung what kind of food and gusto nilang lutuin or bilhin na lang. They want pizzas from Shakey's so we decided to just order it and have it deliver in our home. We want our noche buena na "light" lang para naman hindi kami sobrang full kapag natulog na. That morning din ay bumili kami ng Mango Torte from Dulcelin para may pandagdag sa noche buena.

Manager's Choice

Pepperoni

Buddy Pack of Chicken n' Chips

and a Mango Torte from Dulcelin...

Happy Holidays!!!!

Breakfast

Our breakfast this morning was Tosilog with "Daing na Espada" in the picture it can be mistaken as bacon but no, it's a delicious espadang daing from Pangasinan. I was very surprised to see it here in Sangandaan Market. We only had the chance to eat this Espada everytime my Kuya will visit us from Pangasinan. This is Jeffrey and Justine's favorites too.
Because I was inpired by my friend Peach in food blogging, I served this breakfast in a cute dish, hehehe... my bunso exclaimed "wow" when he saw the preparation i've made for his breakfast.

Here, take a closer look... it's not bacon! It's a very crispy "daing na espada"!

Tikoy

The other day, hubby and Jeff went to Binondo to buy our monthly supplies here in our shop. My son Jeff was a hopia and tikoy fanatic that's why when they were near the Binondo Church hubby decided to buy his favorite hopia and tikoy at Eng Bee Tin. He doesn't want the flavored tikoy just the plain one.
Tikoy is a very famous give-away during Chinese New Year. During this season we always anticipate our Chinese friends to give us a box or two, hehehe. The tikoy is made up of ground glutinous rice flour, lard, water, sugar and wheat starch. I think the type of sugar that is used in making tikoy determines its color.

The packaging of Eng Bee Tin's Tikoy is very attractive.

The inside package was evidently clean.

The only way I know how to cook this is by dipping it in eggs and then fry it. I usually cut my tikoy in triangular shape and serve it this way. Jeff loves to eat his tikoy with sugar and creamy Alaska evaporated milk poured on it.

Do you like tikoy also?

Gusto kong mamasyal...

Excited akong makita, smallest monkey in the world
At ipagmalaki ito all over the world.

A simple lunch for Yeye's Birthday

The birthday of Yeye yesterday was celebrated with a simple lunch. We always joke her about her birthday because one day na lang and it's November 1 na. Kaya nga it's been a habit of our close relatives to visit our departed loved ones in Tugatog Cemetery every 31st day of October and not November 1st, one of the main reasons is that its Yeye's Birthday. We always prepare special lunch for them.
As usual, the favorite Lechon na Liempo sa Pugon

Veggies for Kare-Kare

Pata ng baka at iba't-ibang lamang loob.
(My fave was the manzanilla and the bituka)

Hindi ito complete without my Lola's Bagoong

I made a vinegar with soysauce, onions and sliced chilli

Chopped na yung liempo...

Hubby ordered a fish salad in one of his friend
(Super laki nito!)

Well, that's it!

For dessert, hubby bought leche flan @ Salas in Raja Bago.

sawsawan....mamili na kayo!

Si Tatay Ten (brother of Yeye) ang unang bisita...

Happy 68th Birthday Yeye!

We call her Yeye but my sons and her other grandchildren calls her "Ma". She's now 68 years old and we are celebrating it today. She's always there for us kahit noong nag-uumpisa palang kaming magsama as husband and wife at a very very young age.
2 more years ay magse-celebrate na siya ng kanyang 70th birthday and it's definitely something to look forward to because we're gonna make it with a bang! Hehehe....
Happy Birthday Yeye!

Gatang Gulay at Hipon

This is our ulam last night.

Century Corned Tuna

Have you tried the new Century Corned Tuna? I really love this new addition to the family of my fave Tuna in can. I just sauted it in onions (lots of it) then I put fried garlic on top (just like in the commercial)... Sarap niya with hot pandesal or fried rice kapag morning ko siya niluluto.

I don't have any intention to taste the San Marino Corned Tuna (not because I don't like M.R. and D.D.) but in some of the forums that Ive read... hindi daw ito masarap...:(

Pasalubong for my boys...

Uuwi ba naman kaming walang dalang pasalubong for our two boys. Siyempre as per their request ay talagang binili namin ni hubby ang kanilang mga bilin.

For Kuya Justine, he wanted a Bacon Mushroom Melt and a Macaroni Side Salad ... hindi ko na picturan :(

For Jeffrey, he requested a chicken from KFC and his favorite Frap.

One for kuya and one for Jeffrey...
